From Blogger to WordPress

If I have any fans out there (in the one day I've been running), listen up! Soon I'll be switching from this blog, to a new one. Due to some difficulties in formatting and my lack of understanding for HTML, I'll be switching to a new blog provided by WordPress. Don't worry, i won't be moving you around from blog to new blog constantly. The blog I will be starting up will be where I will stay. I have bought a domain name and my brother TJ is helping with some of the designs and such. I'll let you all know the link when the blog is ready! Thanks for understanding!

Late Night...or Early Morning?

So...I sorta got myself addicted to the Australian version of the show Flashpoint. It's 1:30am and here I am watching the show Rush on Hulu.com! I can't keep staying up like this, but... it keeps happening.

Time Zone Issues and Technology

Something is off with the posting clock on this blog... it's a few hours behind what time it really is here. Or maybe, maybe it's just really far ahead, almost 24 hours ahead. Maybe I'll figure out how to fix that soon.... maybe. Anyways, while I'm talking about time, I've always thought time zones were odd. It's weird to look at the clock and say "Oh, it's 6pm" and then over in a place like Ireland I can speak to a friend, where it's 12am there. Same with my fellow admins at Epic Music Memes. It makes it very difficult to choose a time to do certain activities together. But, what can one do about that? Certainly I could fly over to Ireland or New York or Idaho and visit these friends, but what an expense that would be. It's weird, the benefits of technology today. Not long ago, people carried around cell phones the size of half of their heads, and though they could call people from around the world, it was such an expense. Not that many people knew people so far away, other than distant relatives. Today, however, we meet people online that live halfway across the world from us, we meet people who live an hour away from us, that we would have never met otherwise. Of course, there are some precautions to take with all that, but still, isn't it fascinating? We have the ability to meet people from all over the world, and most of the time, I believe we take granted for that. I only realized this as I started to meet some of the best friends that I could ever wish for. I find myself saddened by the distance between us all, but what can we do? We can't all be in the same place at once. So here we sit, talking to each other through a screen, building relationships with text, personalities through emotes. Is it satisfying? Perhaps not. But, it's all we've got. Would it be better if we got rid of such abilities? If we limited ourselves to the people who live around us? Perhaps. But maybe not, who can really say? We live in a world that rapidly changes, and we rapidly adapt to that change. A new iPhone comes out and people are already bored with it within days. Yet, here we are, continuing to use the internet, meeting new people that we will never see face to face. Is this a habit now? Could we get bored with it, just as we have with the new iPhone, the new Play Station, the latest, and hottest new video game? Perhaps our interest with the internet is so unending because of the people who wind themselves in it's web. A device can become boring, predictable, but each person is different. And perhaps that is what attracts us to the internet, to meet people we know we will never be able to got to the bar with, people that we will never hear the voice of. The mystery behind each of us if different each time, and we're attracted to each other like magnets. Where with the magnetic field lead you next?

More Updates!

I just added my twitter feed and a playlist of my favorite songs to the blog! Now just looking up more of what I can do with this. If you couldn't tell, this "Home" page of the blog will contain my random thoughts, any updates I've made to the pages, and anything else that doesn't have anything to do with The Ultimate Guide to Band or my story writing.
